I have to physically examine your quilt to appraise it. I will not do electronic evaluations.

There are 3 types of appraisals: insurance, fair market value and donation (curiosity falls under insurance).

Insurance gives you a replacement value. Fair Market Value gives you what the quilt would sell for at “Fair market prices” and donation value is used when you are planning to donate your quilt and use it as a tax deduction.

I will examine your quilt. This will include measurements, photographs, and notes on the descriptions of the pattern and quilting. Any information you have about the maker, the quilter, and awards the quilt has won or any other information about the quilt should be given to me.

Within 2 weeks, I will mail your appraisal to you.

What can I expect?
